Work-Sample Test

Assessment that resembles the actual job task.

Work-sample tests are among the most predictive selection methods (Schmidt & Hunter). Examples: code review for engineers, mock customer call for sales, real edit for editors.

The gain comes from job-relevance: candidates do work that resembles the job, scored on criteria that resemble job performance.
