Candidate Experience

How applicants perceive your hiring process — from job ad to rejection email.

Candidate experience is the sum of every interaction a person has with your hiring process. It affects whether they accept your offer, refer friends, and become future customers.

The biggest CX wins are basic: respond to every applicant within 7 days, give honest reasons, keep the apply flow under 3 minutes, and use mobile-first design. Talent Board's annual research finds that candidates with a positive experience are 2.7× more likely to refer others, even when rejected.

The cheapest improvements are status-update automation and a humane rejection email. The most expensive — and most damaging — failure is silence.
